Archaeological Museum Giovanni Rambotti - Desenzano del Garda

The Museum of Desenzano, for its geographical location in an area very rich in remains of the Bronze Age settlements (palafitticoli), has the function specifically to offer a broad panorama of successive prehistoric cultures in the region of the Benaco. The exceptional nature of the area, perhaps the most important of Europe regarding the wetlands of archaeological interest, mainly stems from the characteristics of submerged anthropogenic deposits, set at some distance from the shore of the lake or laminated in the inframorainic docks of the moors, which thanks to their anaerobic conditions, allow the preservation of the artefacts in organic material and the plough of Lavagnone is the most clamorous example.
